Client: NJEDA
BANC3 Consulting Engineers performed Phase I and II environmental investigations
for an adhesive manufacturing company (Bond Adhesives Company) located in Newark.
The facility consisted of three 750-gallon aboveground storage tanks which
were used to receive and store bulk quantities of acetone, methyl ethyl ketone,
and di-n-butylphthalate. Approximately 60 drums labeled as Airflex 400, Vinal
XX-230, Ethanol, Toluene, Dibutyl Phthalate, Ethyl Acetate, Aromatic 100,
Isopropyl Acetate, and Cyclohexanone were present at this facility.
The site consists of manufacturing areas, storage area, chemical storage tanks, and office. BANC3 prepared Phase I Environmental Site Assessment and subsequent environmental investigation (Phase II) reports to identify and determine the extent of contamination in accordance with NJDEP Technical Requirements for Site Remediation. BANC3 recommended remedial action measures to properly address the known contamination.
NJEDA is extremely satisfied with the work BANC3 provided under this project. Based on our performance, a contract extension was awarded for completion of miscellaneous project details. This experience is similar to the level of effort required in various naval facilities for this proposal.
